There are no structures, no inscriptions, no markers — the graves lie plain in keeping with Islamic practice. What the eye cannot single out, the heart still honours; visitors greet the people of the graves as a whole.

Quiet reflection

Offer the sunnah greeting to the people of the graves and make dua for them. Photography inside is discouraged; voices stay low. Entry is traditionally for men, while women often make dua from outside the walls.

The cemetery sits on the Hujun road, roughly a kilometre north of the mosque — a few minutes by car, and the closest historic visit in Makkah. Most visits take fifteen to thirty unhurried minutes, quietest after Fajr.
